The Doorstep of Spring

Looking back at the previous month we can see the month was punctuated by our Valentine's event Love is in the Air which was as fun as we expected it to be. We had a fantastic time and are humbled by the generosity of people that will go out of their way to help a charitable cause. The band offered their time for free and we got the use of the village hall for half the usual price. We also want to thank Best Jamaican Cuisine for their seamless integration into the night and amazing professionalism; not to mention the amazing food selection they served up.

February also saw us picking up the pace with getting our boat ready for the summer. The winter was kind on the boat and even survived the harsh winter gales that ruined the tarpaulins that we used to cover the boat. Now with a full complement of oars and a growing inventory of safety kit, we are looking forward to taking her out on the high seas as soon as our mooring in Exmouth is ready.

Looking towards March proves to be a busy month for us. We have Our own Pre-Shipping Inspection, to make sure we have an accurate inventory of the hundreds of small things the boat needs to keep us safe while at sea. Cockpit Jackstays, Rowing Gates, Roving Bilge Pump, and all those other things that we never knew were actual things before we signed up for this crazy challenge, have to be ticked off and safe.
